Frequently Asked Questions

What is Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is a revolutionary method for deep exfoliation. The surface of our skin is constantly subject to the dulling and damaging effects of every day environmental factors such as UV light, artificial heat or cooling, and pollution. Over time these factors cause a build up of dead and congested skin cells which lead to a lifeless, tired and aging complexion. Microdermabrasion revitalises by polishing the skin of its dead outer layers, and stimulating skin renewal, to reveal fresher more youthful looking skin.

Does microdermabrasion hurt?

No, microdermabrasion does not hurt. You may feel a mild discomfort but most patients compare the treatment to a gritty facial massage or they feel minor tugging on their skin.

Will microdermabrasion help blackheads?

Yes, microdermabrasion can help to get rid of blackheads. The treatment loosens the dead skin on your face and removes the top part of blackheads. Over the course of your treatments, the blackheads will be removed along with the dead skin and excess oil that cause the blackheads.

Is microdermabrasion safe for all skin types?

Yes, microdermabrasion can be used for all skin types on all areas of the body and face.

Are there any side effects to the treatment?

After the treatment, the skin may feel tight with mild redness. Therefore it is important that you use a good moisturiser. These effects normally subside within 36 hours of treatment.

How many treatments should I have?

Irecommend a course of three to six treatments, however, I will talk this through with you following your initial consultation. People with acne or acne scarring might need more treatments and I recommend a monthly maintenance treatment after each course has finished to help maintain the results achieved.

How quickly can I expect to see results?

You will see results immediately and with each subsequent treatment your skin will continue to look progressively better.
